GETTING THE RIGHT FIT

HOW TO FIND YOUR RING SIZE

Whether you're planning a surprise proposal or choosing together, finding the right ring size can feel daunting. It doesn't need to be.

This guide will walk you through everything you need to know - and if you're still unsure, Benjamin is always happy to help personally.

METHOD ONE

If your partner already wears a ring on their ring finger, this is a great starting point. Download and print our ring sizer at home, place the ring flat over the page and match the inside edge to the nearest circle. Each circle is labelled with its AU size - photograph the ring over the page and send it through to Benjamin. He'll confirm the size for you.

METHOD TWO

If you don't have access to a printer, this is a simple and effective alternative. Take a ring that already fits your partner's ring finger, lay it flat on a ruler and measure the internal diameter - the distance across the inside of the ring - in millimetres. Take a photo and send it through to Benjamin. He'll confirm the size for you.

Make sure the ring is perfectly round and sits flat on the ruler for an accurate measurement.

METHOD 3

A studio visit is the most accurate way to find the perfect size - and for most clients, it happens naturally as part of the first consultation. Whether you're coming in together or planning a surprise, I'll work with you to determine the right size. If you're able to bring a ring your partner already wears, even better - I'll measure it precisely at the bench.

RING SIZING FAQS

Fingers change size throughout the day. For the most reliable result, measure at the end of the day when your body temperature has settled.

Yes - a wider band sits across more surface area of the finger and will feel firmer than a narrow band of the same size. As a general guide, bands 5mm and wider may require sizing up by half a size for a comfortable fit. Benjamin will advise on this as part of your design consultation.

Home measurements are a reliable starting point, but they're not always perfectly precise. Factors like the time of day, temperature, and how well the ring actually fits your partner's finger can all affect the result. Benjamin will always confirm your size before production begins to ensure the fit is as close as possible.

This is very common. The most reliable approach is to borrow a ring your partner already wears on their ring finger and either use the printable sizer to match it, or bring it into the studio for Benjamin to measure directly. If neither is possible, every Benjamin Rose commission includes one complimentary resize within 18 months of collection - but it's always best to get as close as possible.

Most rings can be resized by around two sizes in either direction. The range depends on the design - rings with intricate pavé settings, full eternity bands, or certain stone configurations may have limitations. Benjamin will advise on any resizing considerations specific to your design before production begins.

Yes - often significantly. The ring finger on the dominant hand is typically slightly larger than the same finger on the non-dominant hand. Always measure the specific finger on which the ring will be worn.

Find the next closest option and keep a watchful eye on which finger they're wearing it on. Even if it's their index or middle finger, that allows us to make an educated estimate as to the size of their ring finger.
